As it comes to a beef roast, the chuck roast tends to be one of the best due to the incredible marbling of fat within the meat. The chuck roast comes from the front shoulder of a cow and takes time to break down the fibers in the cut due to the movement of the cow. In these wine braised pulled beef sandwiches, the beef is cooked in a rich cooking liquid that thickens as the beef cooks and comes out extremely tender and full flavored.
In a slow cooker, place the garlic and onions on the bottom and place the chuck roast on top.
In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the beef roast and over and on low for 6-8 hours.
Once the beef roast is tender, shred the beef with two forks until you like the texture. Add the beef back into the cooking liquid and season with any additional salt and pepper.
Divide the beef onto the buns and top with banana peppers, cheese, slaw or any of your favorite toppings.
