A great appetizer for a holiday party or a game day party is the classic chicken wings. These baked garlic parmesan wings are baked instead of fried but they still as crispy and delicious as ever and loaded with a mouthwatering butter garlic parmesan sauce. The key is to broil the chicken right after they are baked to get the skin super crispy and browned then toss them in the sauce right before serving them. They will be the hit at your next gathering. Check out the recipe below in this post.
In a large bowl, add the canola oil, hot sauce, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Pat the chicken dry and place chicken into the bowl. Gently toss to coat all the chicken. Let chicken marinate for 10 minutes as oven preheats.
Place chicken on a wire rack or parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, flip the chicken over and bake for an additional 7-10 minute or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F degrees.Turn the Broiler on to HIGH. Place chicken under broiler for 5-10 minutes, until browned and skin is crisp.
Heat a medium sauce pan to medium heat. Add butter and garlic to the pan. Melt the butter down. Let cook in the liquid for 2-3 minutes, or until fragrant. Add in 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese, smoked paprika and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine. Let the sauce cook for another 2 minutes.
Place the cooked chicken into a large bowl, pour the garlic parmesan sauce over the chicken wings. Using a pair of tongs, toss the wings to coat all of them with the sauce. Serve. Top the wings with an additional 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese and leftover garlic bits from sauce. Garnish with green onions.
