The ranger cookie history goes back to the 1930’s Texas rangers. The cookies are very similar to the cowboy cookie, which I grew up on all my life. These cookies were a typical dessert for the Texas ranger’s dinner since they were handheld and packed with energy packed ingredients that were perfect for the Texas rangers to keep them going.
Today they make the perfect snack for keeping you going on a hike in the wonderful fall weather or a snack for your mid afternoon energy boost. The cookies come out moist and packed with sweet and delicious flavors. The nuts or chocolate chips can be replaced with raisins for a healthier option.

One of the most dredged vegetables out there is the brussel sprouts. It feels like most kids are tortured to eat these growing up. It seems like I was one of those kids that wasn't lucky, probably one of the reasons I enjoy eating them. Brussel sprouts are full of nutritious fiber, fatty acids and rich in antioxidants.
These Firecracker Brussels sprouts have a great pop of chili flavor, but does not overwhelm the taste of the brussel sprouts.. They are oven-roasted and full of flavor and crisp around the edges but tender inside. If you are ever on the verge of trying them, this recipe is a good one to bring them back to your plate.

For birthdays , I enjoy making people some of their favorite desserts or meals. I feel like its a more personal gift that they really enjoy. With my moms birthday this week I decide to make one of her favorite deserts a pecan pie. This time I decided to make this bourbon pecan tart to make it something different. The sweetness of the filling and the smokiness of the bourbon really bring out the flavor of the pecans. I mean who doesn't like a little bit of booze in there dessert!! The tart can be made booze free with the substitution of apple juice for the bourbon.
