Quick and Easy Broccoli Salad

6/29/2019

Broccoli salad is one of the most common potluck and picnic salads. The broccoli has a great crunch and goes great with the raisins, walnuts, cheese and onion. The salad is topped with a classic mayonnaise and vinegar sauce that covers the ingredients, but doesn't pool on the bottom that needs consistent stirring. This broccoli salad is very easy to make and only has a few steps that can be done within minutes. Check out the recipe below in the post.

In a small bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and salt and pepper. Mix until combine. The recipe I use does not have any sugar added like typical dressing. It still has a great flavor with the addition of salt and pepper that the sugar is not missed.

In a large bowl, add the broccoli, raisins, shallot, bacon, walnuts and cheddar cheese.

Pour the mayonnaise sauce on top and toss until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper if needed. The dressing should be just be enough to cover everything without a lot of excess.

A patty melt is the perfect blend of a cheese burger and a grilled cheese. A patty melt is a great sandwich which puts a beef burger, caramelized onions and melted swiss cheese in between two slices of toasted rye bread.  It is not a great meal if you are trying to stay low fat, but everyone needs to cheat meal every once and awhile. Honey-Maple Glazed Pork Chops

6/15/2019

The best complement for any cut of pork is sugar. It helps bring out the natural sweetness that is found in the pork. The combination of the sugar seasoning coating and the honey and maple syrup complement the natural sweetness of the pork chops without becoming over sweet. These honey-maple glazed pork chops have a great smokey char that gets in cased in the sweet honey-maple glaze. The addition of the mustard and vinegar help make the glaze stick to the pork chops unlike most glazes that get melted right off while on the grill. Check out the recipe below in post.
