There is two different kinds of chicken wings out there. Ones that get the flavor from a sauce during or after cooking and ones that get its flavor from a rub. These are the type that gets its flavor from a rub. These chili lime chicken wings have a great sweet and sour flavor that is baked into the skin of the chicken. The skin gets a golden brown color while the meat inside is very tender, moist and full of flavor. They have a very flavorful with a mild heat that could be jazzed up by a hit of hot sauce in the chili lime marinade before baking if desired.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the chili powder, honey, lime juice, salt and pepper until smooth.
Toss the chicken and let marinate for 30 minutes.
Transfer to a greased wire rack over a parchment lined sheet pan. Make sure to leave space between each chicken wing for even cooking.
Bake at 425F degrees for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature is over 165F degrees. Serve right away.
