If you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, you have to try this recipe. This crab and cheese bread loaf is packed with a cheesy crab filling that sticks to the toasted bread loaf. The crab and cheese bread loaf can be made from start to finish in under 30 minutes and is a crowd pleaser for your next family gathering or game day. Check out the recipe below in post.
In a mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese, mayo, green onion, parsley, crab, salt, pepper and garlic together until it is smooth. For the crab, I used canned (not lump) crab meat, it cuts down on the time and still has a full crab flavor.
Cut the loaf of bread in cross hatch pattern about 1" - 1-1/2" spacing between cuts.
Spread the crab mixture inside the slices. Place on a lined cookie sheet. The filling will get onto the top which is fine since it will be covered with the cheese.
Sprinkle the cheese over the loaf and bake in over for 15-20 mins until the cheese is melted brown and bubbly, allow to cool slightly to set.
Sprinkle the remaining green onions on top and serve.
