Cooking fish is a quick and easy dinner to prepare. The cooking times are very short and the meat can take all sorts of flavors. Tilapia is a great inexpensive fish that is light and flaky and is very mild flavored. In this lemon paprika tilapia recipe, the tilapia is saute quick and topped with a easy cream sauce that is packed with a fresh lemon flavor. The whole dish takes under 20 minutes from start to finish. The tilapia can be replaced with any other light flaky white fish or even shrimp.
Sprinkle tilapia fillets with salt and pepper and 1 teaspoon paprika. Melt the two tablespoons butter in a heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add fish and cook until just opaque in center, about 2 minutes per side.
Add shallots to skillet and saute until beginning to soften, about 2 minutes.
Add white wine and boil until reduced by about half, about 3-4 minutes.
Add parsley, whipping cream, lemon zest, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika. stir continuously until thickened to sauce consistency, about 1-2 minute. Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper. Spoon the sauce over fish.
