When it comes to party appetizers, there is nothing easier then pizza rolls. They are always crowd pleasers and they are super easy to prepare. In these Philly cheesesteak pizza rolls, there is fresh sauteed beef, tender green pepper and onions in every bite. Plus there is delicious provolone cheese oozing out. They are perfect for a party or just as a easy dinner that takes less than 30 minutes to prepare and bake.
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper and cook over medium heat until all sides are browned. Add the diced onions and peppers. Cook until the vegetables are softened and meat is cooked through, about 5 minutes.
Tip: I find using the sliced beef for stir fry a time saver and is typically sliced thin enough all you need to do is slice it into smaller pieces.
Roll out the pizza dough without stretching it too thin. Add 5 slices of provolone cheese across the top of the long side of the dough. Spread the beef and vegetable mixture over ¾ of the remaining dough. Top the bottom side with the remaining cheese, leaving about 1” of dough uncovered.
Carefully roll the dough up top to bottom creating a long roll and using the uncovered dough to seal shut. Don't roll to tight, the dough will expand to fill in the spaces and make the roll more tender. Cut the dough into 1 ½-2” slices and place on a line baking sheet, should be around 12 rolls.
Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until the pizza dough is golden brown. Serve the rolls as is or with beef ad jus to dunk them in.
