As it goes with asian inspired food, the go to is a simple stir-fry. It seems like everyone has a certain recipe that they love and can be made in minutes. This beef and pepper stir fry is no different. The stir fry can be made in under 20 minutes and is packed with flavors from all of the spices and cooking liquids the stir fry is tossed in at the end. The stir fry is served with simple to use pad thai noodles that made a great substitution for the standard rice.
In a bowl, whisk together the chicken stock, soy sauce, rice vinegar, set aside.
In a large skillet, Heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat until just smoking. Add the beef and cook until browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate. You can use any quick cooking beef like sirloin and flank steak also.
Heat the remaining oil and add the peppers and onion to the pan. Cook until both are softened, about an additional 2 minutes. Add the chili paste and five spice powder, stir until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the beef, noodles and soy mixture and toss to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes until everything is hot. Serve immediately.
