In this Sweet and Sticky Pork Bites, the pork is cooked in a very flavorful sauce that is cooked down into a sweet and sticky glaze that coats the pork fantastically. For this recipe, you will need to pass on the lean cuts of meat and use ones that have more fat like a pork shoulder or rib meat. The pork comes out tender and goes perfect over steamed white rice.
Cut the pork into 1” cubes. Over medium-high heat olive oil in a large skillet and cook onions and pork for about 5-7 minutes until the meat is well browned. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Add the water, soy sauce, brown sugar and fish sauce, sesame oil and red pepper flakes over the pork and bring to a light boil. Let the pork simmer for about 30-35 minutes or until almost all of the water has evaporated and a thicken sauce is left.
Stir the sauce to coat the pork and serve the pork over rice with some green onions for garnish.
