If you are looking for a new and fun way to make chocolate chip cookies you got to check these cookies out. These raspberry and white chocolate cookies are soft, chewing and busting with delicious flavors from the white chocolate and fresh raspberries. Also the raspberries don't just add flavor to these cookies it also brings a beautiful red color swirled throughout the cookies. These cookies are very easy to make and can be made in well under 30 minutes from start to finish.
A classic style of cookie is the sandwich cookie which uses two cookies and fills them with variety of different filling. In the holiday season it tends to be two sugar cookie with a jam filling. In these blackberry walnut sandwich cookies, I use two buttery, nutty shortbread cookies packed with finely chopped walnuts then filled with tart blackberry jam between. Then finished off with a dusting of powdered sugar. Check out the recipe below in this post.
Brownie are the one of the most common desserts that can be loved at any time and these caramel turtle brownies are to die for delicious. These caramel turtle brownies are soft and gooey, packed with a rich chocolate flavor, filled with fresh homemade caramel and topped with crunchy pecan pieces. If the caramel making processed seems hard, don't worry it is really simple as long as you keep an eye on it and is totally worth it at the end. Check out the recipe below in this post.
As December is just around the corner, it is the time when cookies are all of the rage with different cookie exchanges and activities that families do together. These double chocolate mint cookies have a great soft and chewy texture and back with a rich chocolate and cool mint flavor. The cookies will stay soft for several days if covered up tight, must of the times they don't stick around to long however. The cookie dough freezes great in little dough balls that can bake anytime. Check out the recipe below in the post.
As the holiday season is slowly creeping toward us, we will find our self involved in work potlucks and large family event. Most of the time you need a tasty easy dish you can bring with you. These apple streusel are very easy to make and require no par-baking of the cookie crust which makes preparation very quick. The bars have a great spiced apple flavor that is very tender and has a great crunch with the cookie crust and streusal topping that gets golden brown in the oven. This is a great change to the normal apple crisp. Check out the recipe below in this post.
As from Minnesota, we are a big art of the discovering different kinds of apples especially for northern climates. The most popular is the Honeycrisp, but almost every one is great flavored apple. The best Minnesota apples to bake with are haralson and zestar. This apple upside-down bread is a fantastic apple dish. It can make a great breakfast but also can make a great dessert warm with a side of cold vanilla ice cream. The apples come out caramelized and the sugary glaze hardens slightly when it cools and covers all the sides as you flip it over onto a dish. Check out the recipe below in post.
Banana cake is one of my all time favorite kind of cake. To me its one of those cakes that has fruit so it seems like it is healthy and has the rich sweet taste from the cooked bananas that makes banana bread so good, but in cake form. The banana walnut cake comes out super moist and fluffy, great balance of sweet and richness and is topped with a great cream cheese frosting that isn't over sweet. Banana cake tastes even better after it has been in the refrigerator and is cold on a hot summer day like today. Check out the recipe below in post.
Snickerdoodles are a popular cookie that is rolled in cinnamon sugar before baking. The cookies come out thick, super soft, buttery and full of flavor. They are one of my favorites with the ease of preparation as they can be made start to finish in about 30 minutes. They come out perfect every time and everyone loves them. Check out the recipe below in post.
A galette is a term in french cuisine for a flat cake or pie that is normally filled with fruit or a savory filling. As of right now, in the heat of the summer is the prime time for ripe fresh peaches and lucky for me its my favorite fruit. The sweet and tender peaches and the thin flaky pie crust is a perfect summer dessert with a side of vanilla ice cream. The peaches can be substituted for equal amount of apples, berries, plums, nectarines. Check out the recipe below in post.
When you hear about rhubarb in the summer, the first thing that comes to mind is the classic strawberry rhubarb pie. That is a classic summer pie and great dessert but raspberry and rhubarb is an even better combination as the two flavors mend together perfectly. Both have pretty equal tart to sweetness ratios that work great. These raspberry rhubarb bars have the great flavor of both with a crisp cookie crust on the bottom and a sweet pecan crumb on the top make it a perfect little dessert square. The raspberry preserve add the right sweetness and keeps the mixture thick so the crust will never be soggy even when not par baked like in this recipe. Check out the recipe below in post.
