As this weekend is father's day weekend, why not make a classic great chicken drumette/wing recipe that is great and flavorful. These spicy ranch drumettes have a great bite to them with the ranch flavor soaked throughout them. The preparation is simple and takes minutes, the hardest part is waiting for them to marinade. The chicken comes out juicy and the skin crisps up and melts into the chicken making it perfect to make for the dads or anyone in your life.
In the summer, there is nothing better then a great juicy burger out on the patio. These Oklahoma style fried onion burger, there is a layer of fresh onions that are fired into the beef then flips over as the onion juices seep into the burger. Frying burgers in a cast iron skillet gives the exterior of the burger a great browned exterior and a juicy interior. The burgers come out juicy, messy and absolutely delicious served on a toasted buttered bun. It is hard to just have one.
As the weather is warming up finally grill season is here in full force. These hoisin and honey glazed pork chops are a great addition for this summer. The pork chops are marinaded in a sweet and savory then brushed with the marinade as it glazes to the pork chops making a great flavorful dish. From start to finish these pork chops take under 30 minutes and can easily be done in the oven also as described in the post below.
New Orleans-Style Barbecue Shrimp is far from what you think it would be. The dish is shrimp cooked tender in a spice and worcestershire sauce spiked butter sauce with butter with fresh lemon juice. The shrimp is typically cooked in the sauce, but I like to grill them to add a bit of smoky flavor before I toss them in the sauce. The shrimp come out tasting rich and wonderful and are incredibly simple to prepare. The shrimp are great over salads, rice or any other starch.
Chimichurri sauce is an Argentina sauce that is great for marinating and as a condiment on top of grilled meat. The chimichurri sauce is a very vibrant green color and is very similar to a pesto that uses cilantro and parsley in place of basil. With these grilled shrimp you use the chimichurri sauce for a marinate then use it as a finishing sauce that packs the shrimp with great flavor inside and out. It is perfect as a meat portion of a meal or as an appetizer. Check out the recipe below in the post.
Tired of having the same old salads at every backyard barbecue or picnic? This grilled ratatouille vegetable salad is a great colorful and very healthy salad that is a great choice for a change. The grilled ratatouille vegetable salad is much lighter then the standard potato or pasta salads that are the norm, but still pack a great flavor from the vegetables and the light vinaigrette dressing and fresh herbs that the grilled vegetables are tossed in. The salad takes very little time and can be served either hot or cold. Check out the recipe below in post.
There is two basic ways of making barbecue chicken. The first way is to use a dry rub and the second is using a wet sauce. Both have their ways of being great and bad. Both methods are very easy and simple but with dry rub you need to coat the chicken a second time or keep applying extra seasoning as you cook and with using a wet sauce the sauce either doesn't stick to the chicken or it will start to burn as it cooks. With this barbecue rubbed chicken recipe, you start by making a dry rub then turn it into a paste the will stick well to the chicken locking in the moisture and with caramelize into a glaze like you will get with the traditional dry rub. Check out the recipe at the bottom of the post.
With the summer grilling season just starting to get going, it is time to uncover that grill and get cooking. This monterey chicken is a fantastic grilling recipe. The marinated glazes the chicken and leaves a great light char on both sides. Then gets topped with swiss cheese, grilled onions, bacon and the fresh pico de gallo puts a fantastic final touch to the chicken. The recipe will also work great in a 400 degree oven too if you done have access to a grill or the weather isn't playing fair with you.
